Just a moment of reflection… In 2005, I entered my first pageant ever. I took an at-large title and headed straight to Nationals. 4th runner-up at that national pageant left a fire in my soul. I realized then that there was so much more to pageantry than meets the eye. I met one of my best friends and have continued to meet ladies who continue to uplift and strengthen my life. I grew in poise, public speaking, appeance and a whole other world opened up to me outside of being a nurse, wound expert, legal nurse consultant, mother, wife, PTA member, etc. I cannot imagine my life without my pageant family. The friendships formed, memories shared, life lessons learned… all because I made one decision to “wear a set of heels and walk in a dress on-stage.” Entering my first pageant was one of my best decisions ever.
