I’d love to give this fine, brave young woman a hug and a standing ovation. @realcaramund has stood in the face of adversity for something she felt to be right. She has risked her entire year of as @missamerica to stand up to the Miss America Board, which is made of women who may have lost sight of what Miss America represents and is supposed to emulate. We praise you @realcaramund for standing up to a type of leadership which is degrading to the organization. We try to raise our young women to be strong, have a voice, take the hard road if needed, be passionate, purposeful and kind; refusing to take a back seat to those who don’t deserve our respect. Sometimes that road for what is right can be a lonely, hard road to take. You are not alone @realcaramund!! We love you and support you. Thank you for continuing to maintain a hope for an organization which needed an exemplary woman like yourself this past year. You have made pageant contestants across this country proud. As you come to the end of your reign, Cara, know that those stressful moments, sleepless nights, and worries were not in vain! We’re proud to stand behind you beautiful! This weeks #PageantTipTuesday is a trick I learnt early on from my pageant-fairy godmother @petersereno, and that is the power of the NUDE SHOE! This is especially important for shorter pageant girls like myself, but relevant to everyone, a good nude shoe is your best friend! It elongates the leg line without cutting it off, making you look taller and longer (always a bonus!). Plus practically it matches almost everything, doesn’t stand out under an evening gown, and is perfect for swimsuit and interview. Don’t trust me?
