I’m celebrating International Women’s Day this week and I was invited to speak with @exceptionalwomensnetwork at @wework about the story of the exceptional women in my family who helped inspire me to attend @ndlawschool and @washulawlife and become an attorney in @cityofaurorail – two generations ago my grandmothers didn’t get the chance to go to high school- my mom has a PhD – today women can choose the course of their education – that woman can also be a beauty queen! Reflecting on the Positives Day 2: Why did I choose the USC pageant system⭐ My journey with the @uscontinentalpageants started 10 years ago when my dear friend Laura won Ms US CONTINENTAL! She came back after winning and said this is a system you have to check out and would absolutely love ❤️ and that is exactly what I did. After my own research I knew she was so right and I needed to do this pageant. I still have the message I sent Loreen all those years ago inquiring on more info. I patiently waited for the dates of the next pageant to be released and unfortunately I had a work obligation so every year I would wait to see the dates and every year I had either a work schedule conflict or a wedding to attend but not last year!!!!! So in 2018 after the national pageant in August took place I checked the dates once more and to my surprise THE DATES WORKED! I sent in a message and spoke with Barbara and the next thing I knew I had my beautiful state crown and Ms Illinois US CONTINENTAL sash! I always wanted to be APART of this sisterhood because of what they stood for: The US Continental Pageant was developed to recognize the modern woman of the 21st century. Women should be recognized not only for their strengths, but accomplishments achieved in life. This pageant promotes intelligent women, women of integrity, women with strong moral values, and inner beauty. The total package!! We are about empowering women! The US Continental Pageant provides unique opportunities to women as they strive to reach their goals and dreams in life. So here are my pictures I did to promote the pageant during my reign as your Ms Illinois US CONTINENTAL journey to nationals!
