PageantCast Mail Bag: 09/20/2017

We know no one uses mail anymore, but here in the mailbag we put a selection of Instagram posts, Facebook posts and Twitter posts that we’ve been tagged in.

Here’s this week’s selection:

PageantCast Vault Autograph Card: Jayna Altman

Jayna Altman, Miss International 2008, was still Miss Missouri International when I interviewed her face-to-face in Chicago when I still did the show in audio format only. As some of you know, Jayna is deaf so a phone interview was never really in the cards, though if anyone could have–it would have Jayna! She was such a delight to speak to we actually had her sit for an unprecedented THREE segments at the time, totally breaking my format at the time.

I’ve changed the format a couple dozen times since then.

Jayna has married and moved out West to LA. According to my sources, she is still awesome.

If you would like your autograph card featured here on a future Thursday with the PageantCast Vault, autograph your card and either scan it and send it to [email protected] or contact me at the same email and I’ll send you the physical address to mail it to me.

PageantCast Vault Autograph Card: Melissa Young

Melissa Young, Miss Wisconsin USA 2005

I did a lot of soul searching as to whose autograph card I wanted to start this feature with and when I thought of Melissa, the contest was over.

Melissa’s is the only photo on the TKPN Bulletin Board that never, ever gets swapped out. She has long been an inspiration to me…well before her valiant fight with her illness that has been waged for many years now.

We interviewed Melissa before there even was a PageantCast…while I still had the radio show, but I new I wanted to start with this lovely lady.

PageantCast Announcement: The NEW PageantCast Vault

As most of you know, we’re releasing our back catalog of shows, along with new ones, due to a hacking about a year ago. To keep things going we are releasing a show every Tuesday and every Friday. A slew of new shows just got through editing (Ohio International) and they are going to start filing in through the feed.

PageantCast Vault
PageantCast Vault

A feature we haven’t done in quite a while is the PageantCast Vault.

It’s pretty obvious why. Because we are re-releasing a lot of shows to rebuild those 1000+ interviews we’ve conducted and are doing it as a matter of course….so I’m re-imagining the PageantCast Vault.

I will release the vault on Thursdays, first of all. When we do LIVE shows, they are typically on Wednesdays, so with Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays with already regular releases, the Vault will need to live on Thursday. (This leaves only Saturday through Monday for news releases, but we’ll live.)

So what will the new version of the PageantCast Vault be?

I’m a huge fan of Pageant Autograph Cards. I have amassed a fairly decent collection of them. So I’m going to share photos of my collection for the Vault.

So yes, most of these I’ve received in the past, but here’s how you can get involved.

You can send me your autograph card. I prefer them signed, but just get them to me! You can sign it, scan it and send it to [email protected] or you can email me at the same address and I’ll send you my physical address.

We’d love to have you take part!

By the way, if you have appearance information, or an article you would like us to feature on the PageantCast, you would send it to [email protected] the same way! (We always welcome crowning moment pictures and videos.)

Look forward to seeing your autograph card soon!

NEW TWITTER POLL: Which TKPN show do you follow?

We just released a new TWITTER POLL! Go to Twitter to take part in the poll right now!
